Why GHR Source?

Let’s be honest, salaried Human Resources (HR) staff are paid to manage risk on behalf of the company they work for. Where disagreements and disputes arise between an individual employee and the company, HR will always start from the position that the interests of the company need to be defended and protected. Your interests and needs will come second. HR people love policies. Dozens of policies to cover every employment situation and every eventuality. If you are a lone employee with a work issue, the system is stacked against you. You need a degree in Human Resource Management to understand the endless policies, procedures, rules, regulations and codes of practice that companies cloak themselves in.

If you go to seek advice from an employment lawyer you will be charged anything from £200 to £500 per hour. Unless you are a senior executive, who can afford to pay fees at that level? At GHR Source we are not employment lawyers and we do not give employment law advice. What we do is to provide practical advice and support based on our knowledge of how HR departments and line management operate. Our fees start at only £100 per hour.

Many people make a complaint at work and their complaint or grievance fails. To maximise your chance of success you need the right level of external support. Where do you find this support? Your own HR department won’t support you. Perhaps you have a friend who could help you to write a grievance letter? Maybe you work in a unionised environment and you can ask your local union representative to assist you? You may be able to approach your local advice bureau or even pay an employment lawyer.

Our consultants are first degree educated and hold Master of Business Administration (MBA) degrees. They are also chartered members of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD). In addition they have extensive experience in project management, coaching and mentoring.
